"In my work the focus of interest is in the research of graphic images found in various literatures and old publications. I use these images as a reference from which I work with collages, cut-outs and overlays, rearranging elements as a thought and new I work in a more expanded field of engraving, using from more artisanal methods of production to the technological tools currently available.

For each project I choose the most appropriate language according to the needs of the imagination. I am interested in exploring different mediums and approaches within other areas of knowledge such as; literature (fables, myths), movies and sciences that contribute, through an association of ideas, to the building of the desired meaning. Among the elements that I choose to produce the works of art, the most recurrent are the animal figures that allow me, from their variety of forms and by their strangeness and mystery, to represent various aspects of the themes that I intend to develop.

My poetic research takes place then within a graphical environment, which unfolds in experimenting with new media and languages, incorporating new elements and seeking a different intermediary between the images and the world. "Thereza Salazar
